Mortgage Modification has its advantage and disadvantage. But, I guess, it is more advantageous because it provides a way out of a negative credit report especially during tough financial times. It allows you to somehow breath easy.

There is a lot up in the air with these programs, the problem is when people are generally in trouble they get hit from every angle, banks and lenders come down hard with high charges and it makes things word.

I think your much better off refinancing, even if you have iffy credit. Loan modifications are not the way to go. If your going through the trouble you should take the road of more benefit.

Great post. My girlfriend and I were interested in purchasing a home using the home affordable mortgage program. I’ll be a little more cautious now. Keep it up.
