Pay Attention Or Pay The Price!

The following videos might shock you - actually they should do that - but hopefully these will make people, especially the ones behind the wheel, to think at least twice about the consequences of their actions.

Drive slowly!
Don’t drink and drive!
Use the seat belt!

There’s no second chance, so PAY ATTENTION!

The car accident statistics are horrifying, but nobody seems to care about that. Or maybe we are lead to not care about it because in this world, which revolves around money, there’s a profit to be made even out of such accidents - insurance companies, car manufacturers, lawyers, medical institutions, to name just a few…
Did you notice that besides each statistic there’s an “economical cost”, but how can you put a price tag on a human life?!

Why there’s no interest to improve the transportation system whatsoever?
It’s killing more people than some fancy-name “swine” flu the media is full about, but still we are not doing anything to cure this! Not to mention the environmental cost of keeping this unsafe and polluting system - it’s killing the air we breath and the planet we live on! But that’s not a problem as long as some will fill their pockets out of this… right? NO, it’s so wrong!!
We’ve come so far in terms of technology, but we are using this knowledge to build weapons instead on improving our lives! Come on, the transportation system is almost the same as tens of years ago…

Drunk drivers should not be given a second chance. There is no reason not to take a taxi, some kind of public transportation or get a friend to take you home. Too many lives have ruined for nothing but stupidness.

Wow! One of my best friends died in a bad car accident just because some people don’t pay attention to what they’re doing

It’s easy to switch off when you are driving home from work, or get distracted by the radio… accidents happen when you couple that with something unexpected (car in front braking suddenly or a child running into the road).

Silly mistakes some time makes horrible accident, videos are nice to watch also be the lesson for bad drivers.

There are definitely some shocking scenes in these videos, but they make a very important point. I think I need to pay more attention when I drive sometimes. I have already given up texting when I drive, because I know how dangerous it can be when you aren’t giving the road your full attention.

Wow! What a nice collection of didactic videos. They are truly educative. Thanks for sharing it make me remember of the great Hollywood movie “Final Destination”

Ya really silly mistakes makes horrible accident. The layout of your blog is attractive. Thanks for sharing.

When you secure a driver’s license,it’s office taught us already the pros and cons of driving through their seminars. I don’t know how they easily forgotten all of its precautionary measures. It’s lack of discipline and negligence on their part, and I don’t know how they passed the tests given to them.

Okay. I think I”m going to trade in my 2-year-old Mustang GT for a granny wagon.

And I’m not going to be able to sleep tonight.

That’s effective.

As an 18 month old I was in am accident and expected to die. No seatblts rewuired in the 1960’s amarently my head left its shape in the metal glove box of the Peugeot. Since then I have been fussy about blets and never drunk to excess. The guy in the iother car had 10 kids and didnt make it.
These ads are at once shoking - even revolting - but painfully timely.

This is a very sad and sobering collection of videos depicting what can happen if you are driving under the influence or just not paying attention to the road.

While I totally agree that driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is wrong I must also add that there are more accidents and deaths in this country caused by people just not paying attention to what they are doing while they are driving.

Take for instance people who “text” while driving, I know there are probably a lot of people reading this who are involved in texting while driving.

Don’t think for a minute that you are any better than someone who had one or two drinks and gets behind the wheel.

Same possibility of a tragic accident occurring, just a different way for an accident to occur.

The car accidents happen every day and the statistic information makes me upset. Every day thousands of people die on the roads and the number of car accidents’ victims increases alongside with the number of cars. Many reasons such as alcohol or inattention are caused by the irrational confidence which can be called “It will never happen with me”. When you know some bad news you sympathize with the people, but you don’t think seriously that you can face with the same. It’s quite usual for the people to be too self-confident, many of us think something like “I’ve drunk only a couple of glasses, I’m fine! I can drive easily.”

Impaired driving is one of Florida’s largest social issues. In 2008 there were 2,978 fatalities on Florida roadways that were alcohol related.

Although most people do not intend to drive home drunk there is no easy answer to know if you are over the limit. There is no way to unequivocally answer this. There are a large number of factors to add into the equation where someone can drink but still remain under the legal limit. Dependent upon the drink consumed, the amount consumed, weight, ones age, and metabolism. However, every drink that you consume can affect your degree of impairment.

You may know that you are impaired in some way by alcohol the night prior, but what about the morning after. It is far more complex to know if you are safe to get behind the wheel the following day. It is just as crucial that people are aware of how long alcohol can stay in your system. Clearly if you are taking in more alcohol then your body is getting rid of chances are you will not be fit to drive the morning after.

The paramount answer would be to not drink and drive. Florida has stringent laws which prohibit driving while intoxicated. In short, first and second offenses are misdemeanors, third or subsequent offense is a third degree felony.

However, your driver’s license can be immediately suspended for six months on the first offense to include high administrative fees.

If you refuse a breathalyzer test, per Florida law your driver’s license is suspended for one year as of the arrest date to include administrative fees. A possible six month jail sentence on the first offense including astronomical fees, second offense could get you a conviction of nine months in jail plus additional fees. A third arrest can afford you a twelve month jail sentence, with thirty days of the jail sentence being mandatory, vehicle impoundment of ninety days and further fees as ordered. Expect a significant increase in your motor vehicle insurance, thus finding competitive quotes will be difficult as insurance companies are hesitant in taking the risk of insuring a driver with a history of a DUI conviction.

I couldn’t watch more than 1 minute of the second video…
Unfortunately there’re many unconsious drivers out there who still have licences and are potencials road criminals.
We have to pay attention, not use cellphones or have the radio to loud…a second of distraction is fatal.

We love our cars and are so used to them that we forget that everytime we jump into them we are risking our lives. Thanks for the reminder.

Ya i too think that drunk drivers should be given harsh punishment so thaat they do not repeat their mistakes again

that 2nd video is horrifying.
absolutely horrifying.

drunk drivers should never be allowed on roads .. no compromise, such people endanger lives of so many people
